Who is Royal Calypso?

My name is Charlene Labadie I am the owner of, and artist behind Royal Calypso. I am a self taught creative who is most comfortable while making anything with my hands. Royal Calypso is where I offer my wears to the world. I started sewing at an early age mimicking my aunts while they sewed uniforms for school children.

While attending school I always gravitated to creative arts classes. Painting, sculpting, making a mess, taking things apart, sewing, dancing, and being creative were my past times growing up.

I take time to notice the mundane and can find inspection in the simple, minute, and over looked. Beauty is my muse and I see it in everything. I find purpose in manifesting beauty out of and idea.
I see every piece of jewelry, custom pillow, candle holder, vase, sculpture, personal and household accessory, and artwork as a glimpse of beauty that you can wear and/or display in your home. I take much pride and pleasure in being used by God to present beauty to the world in the pieces I offer.

Everything I make is made with love and my two hands have had some part in the color, shape, and size. I make items in limited editions and one of a kind pieces, so to give my customer exclusivity.
